No. 17 Gonzaga seeks 20 wins for 12th consecutive season tonight
against Loyola Marymount

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Gonzaga will be seeking its 20th win
tonight when the No. 17 Bulldogs host woeful Loyola Marymount. The
Zags have been installed as 35-point favorites.

The game starts at 6 at the McCarthey Athletic Center in

This would be the 12th consecutive season Gonzaga has won at
least 20 games. A win would also give the bullies of the West Coast
Conference a ninth consecutive league title, extending what is
already the longest such active streak in the nation.

Coach Mark Few says it's frustrating that such milestones are
considered routine for Gonzaga (19-5, 10-0).

The Zags last had a losing WCC record in 1990-91, Few's first
season as an assistant coach at Gonzaga, when the team went 5-9 in
league play.

Loyola-Marymount (2-24, 1-9) lost to Gonzaga 93-60 on Jan. 24 at
Los Angeles.
Pac-10-leading Huskies are 7 1/2-point underdogs tonight at UCLA
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Pac-10-leading Washington will be a 7
1/2-point underdog at 8 tonight against No. 20 UCLA although the
Bruins are coming off a week in which they were swept by the
Arizona schools on the road last week.

The No. 22 Huskies (19-6, 10-3) beat the Bruins 86-75 on Jan. 24
in Seattle. They have a three-game winning streak after winning
twice at home against the Oregon schools last week and have won 17
of their last 20 games.

Washington senior guard Justin Dentmon is the Pac-10's leading
scorer in conference games at 19.0 points per game and Huskies
guard Isaiah Thomas is the league's leading freshman scorer with a
scoring average of 16.5.

The Huskies will play their final regular-season road game at 4
p.m. Saturday at USC. They'll wind up their regular season in
Seattle against the two Arizona schools and Washington State in
Pac-10 contests and Seattle University.
Cougars on the road in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Losers of four of their last five games, the
Washington State Cougars are in Los Angeles for two Pac-10 games
this week.

The Cougars (13-12, 5-8) will try to get back on track at 7:30
tonight at the Galen Center in Los Angeles against USC (15-9, 6-6).
The Trojans won on Jan. 24 at Pullman 46-44 and the Cougars are
7-point underdogs tonight.

Coach Tony Bennett's team will face No. 20 UCLA at noon

Washington State is coming off a 54-52 loss to Oregon State last
weekend at Pullman.
