SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Steven Gray scored a career-high 23 points last night as No. 17 Gonzaga pounded Loyola Marymount 91-54 to win its ninth straight regular-season title in the West Coast Conference.
The win gives the Bulldogs the top seed in the league tournament and improves their record to 20-5, including a perfect 11-0 in the conference.
Josh Heytvelt added 18 points as Gonzaga won at least 20 games for a 12th consecutive season. Gray made five of seven 3-point attempts, all in his 21-point second half.
Loyola Marymount came in as the worst shooting team in the nation and made just 31 percent against Gonzaga. The Lions were led by Kevin Young and Vernon Teel, with 13 points each.
