YAKIMA--While snow plowers adjust to what isn't there (snow), motorcycle shops are benefitting from what is.
This is the first year the "100 Years of Motorcycles" event has been at the Yakima Sundome, and several bike shops from Yakima and Kennewick are taking advantage.
Vendors think promoting themselves this weekend will pay off in the long run.
"A lot of people when they think of bikes they think that they're going to spend 20 to 30 [thousand dollars]," Rose Dovel, General Manager, Speed Motorsports, Union Gap, said. "This is getting everybody's name out there and [letting people know] that they don't have to spend that kind of money."
The local owners we talked to said sales of smaller items like shirts and hats have been strong so far.
