USC beats Washington 77-53
SEATTLE (AP) - The Washington women's basketball team remains in
last place in the Pac-10 conference after losing yesterday to
Southern Cal, 77-53.

Mackenzie Argens scored eight points to lead Washington in its
final regular-season home game. The Huskies are now 6-19, and just
2-13 in the Pac-10.

Sami Whitcomb and Kristi Kingma, the top two scorers this season
for the Huskies, continued to struggle shooting. Whitcomb had seven
points and Kingma six.

The Huskies cut a 14-point deficit to seven early in the second
half. But Brynn Cameron scored five points as the Trojans reeled
off a 16-2 run. The Trojans led by as many as 26 points late in the
second half.

The Huskies shot just 30 percent from the field for the game.
The Trojans shot 43 percent.

SEATTLE (AP) - The Washington men's basketball team is back in
Seattle this week for games on Thursday against 14th-ranked Arizona
State and on Saturday against the Arizona Wildcats.

The Huskies, ranked 22nd, are coming off a 60-51 win on Saturday
over Southern California.

The Huskies are now 20-7 overall and 11-4 in the Pac-10. It's
the first time Washington has reached 20 wins since the 2005-06
season when it was eliminated by Connecticut in the NCAA regional
UCLA defeats Washington State 65-50

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State women's basketball
team was buried yesterday by UCLA, 65-50.

The Cougars were led by Jazmine Perkins, who scored 13 points.
But their record is now 3-12 in the Pac-10. That's ninth place,
just ahead of the last-place Washington Huskies.

The Cougars' next game is Thursday at Arizona.

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State men's basketball team
faces the Arizona schools at home this week, after notching an
82-81 upset of No. 20 UCLA on Saturday.

Taylor Rochestie scored a career-high 33 points in that
squeaker. Washington State is now 6-9 this season against Pac-10

The Cougars play Arizona on Thursday and Arizona State on
GONZAGA - Up Next: Santa Clara
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The 17th-ranked Gonzaga basketball team
plays Santa Clara on Thursday as the Bulldogs attempt to go for a
sweep of their West Coast Conference game.

On Saturday, Josh Heytvelt scored a career-high 28 points as
Gonzaga routed Pepperdine 92-58.

If the Bulldogs win their last two games, they will have a third
undefeated conference season in the past six.
