VLAHOVICH NAMED GNAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Wildcats' Senior Right-Hander Allows One Run in 10 Innings in Series Sweep of St. Martin's

SPOKANE, Wash. (Feb. 23) -- Central Washington University senior Linse Vlahovich (Spokane, Wash./University HS) has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 16-22, the conference office announced on Monday.

Vlahovich, a 5-foot-10 right-hander, won both of her pitching starts this past weekend against Saint Martin's, surrendering just one run in 10 innings of work. She also struck out 11 while walking just three as the Wildcats swept their conference-opening four-game series from the visiting Saints.

The pitcher of the week award is the second of Vlahovich's career, as she won the award previously during her sophomore season two years ago.

For the season, Vlahovich has a 4-1 record and 2.39 earned-run average, and opposing hitters are batting just .189 against her in 29 1/3 innings of work.

Central Washington is 6-3 overall and currently leads the GNAC with a 4-0 league record. The Wildcats will travel to archrival Western Washington this coming weekend for a four-game series with the Vikings on Saturday (Feb. 28) and Sunday (Mar. 1).
