RICHLAND, Wash-- You may have noticed a big dent in the LED reader board outside of Richland City Hall.
Officers say a car came across George Washington way, over the curb and smashed head on into the sign just past midnight Tuesday morning. The driver of the car is in critical condition.
Richland's City Manager tells us the crash was bad enough the power to the sign had to be cut.
"We've taped it off, we've turned off electricity and we've sent the claim to our management," Cindy Johnson, City Manager of Richland. "It's insured for $52,000. We don't know how much it will cost to replace at this point."
Johnson says the sign has only been up for 2-3 years.
