YAKIMA, Wash. - The next Superintendent of the Yakima School District could be announced as early as next week, a member of the school board said Thursday.
The board met in executive session Thursday and are reviewing the backgrounds of the three finalists.
Board President Vickie Ybarra says the district appreciates the feedback they got during each of the candidate visits.
"It's clear the community is invested in the success of the next superintendent and we are just really pleased with the process," she said.
The board will continue to review the finalists into next week and may visit them at their current positions, all of which are out of state.
They hope to have an announcement of their top choice for the job by the end of next week.
