MT. SPOKANE, Wash. - Officials at the Mt. Spokane Ski Resort have confirmed that the body off a skier was found Saturday afternoon on the mountain.
Mt. Spokane spokesperson Brad McQuarrie says the skier was a 55 year-old male who appeared to be off skiing alone. Members of the Ski Patrol tried to resuscitate the man at the scene and were unsuccessful. Paramedics arrived in a Med Star helicopter and also tried to resuscitate but were unsuccessful as well.
McQuarrie says the man didn't have any visible trauma and it appears that the death was due to natural causes. Exact cause and manner of death will be determined after a coroner examines the body.
The identity of the man is not being released at this time.
