Memorial Introduces New MRI Machine on Main Campus
YAKIMA, Wash. - Memorial Hospital showcased its new MRI Thursday making the scanning process more convenient for patients.
The new machine is on the main campus so patients will no longer have to be transferred to another location in an ambulance.
Dr. David Stepanek is a radiologist at Memorial who helped setup the new facility. He says the machine will make it more comfortable for overweight patients and those who are claustrophobic.
"The open concept of this unit will be a much more friendly environment for those individuals," said Stephanek.
Memorial staff also say the time to complete a scan will be approximately 20 minutes with the new machine, almost half the time it took before. The hospital will begin diagnosing patients with the machine the week of March 23rd.
