Kennewick Girl Hospitalized After Rollover; Troopers Say Drugs Involved
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A 17-year-old Kennewick girl was hospitalized after a one-car rollover Thursday morning.
It happened near the intersection of SR-397 and Finley Road at about 3:30 a.m. Troopers say the driver, Justin Anteau, 18, was going too fast around a curve on Finley and rolled the '99 Mercury Mountaineer. The girl was ejected from the vehicle. She had several injuries, including head trauma, and was taken to Kennewick General Hospital, then flown to a Spokane hospital.
Of the four people in the car, the girl was the only one not wearing her seat belt. The other three had only minor injuries.
Troopers say drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Anteau is now facing vehicular assault charges.
