Americans Not Used to Losing

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are in a position they aren't used to. They find themselves looking up at 2 teams in the U.S. Division.

The Ams have won that division 3 years running. But right now, a 4th straight title seems like an uphill climb as the Ams have lost 4 straight and the Portland Winterhawks, a team in their division, are rated as the 2nd best team in the CHL.

For a team that won the Western Conference title last year, 3rd place is just not good enough.

"We're really disappointed," said Coach Jim Hiller. "Our game is about results and you can practice and you can talk and do all that kind of stuff but the bottom line is we're in this thing to win hockey games and if you don't nobody is very satisfied."

"There are definitely things we need to work on right now and that's the main focus is to get back at it this week and get some more wins," said Forward Brendan Shinnimin. "We're not a losing team and it doesn't feel good right now."
