Antique Planes Touch Down In Richland

RICHLAND, Wash- Some very old planes arrived in the Tri-Cities. The Richland Airport was the first stop for the Northwest Air Tour Sunday.

Antique planes of all colors and designs were stretched along the runway for visitors to come and admire. The tour travels all around the Pacific Northwest showing off the nostalgic machines for people to come and learn about how planes were such a big part of the first half of the 20th century.

"Some are nostalgic," said Rich Alldredge of the Pugit Sound Antique Airplane Club. "The lady that comes up to you and says my husband trained back in the airplane in the early 40's to the young kid that gets the chance to sit in the cockpit for the first time and imagine what it would be like up there as a butterfly in the sky."

The tour will continue around the region throughout the week. Their next stop after taking off from the Tri-Cities Monday will be Pendleton, Oregon.
