PASCO, WA. -- Two brothers face a judge and their family says they didn't do it. Jaden and Nathan Quintero are accused of shooting and killing an 18-year-old, but their family is sticking up for them.
As you can imagine, it was very emotional for the parents of 17-year-old Jaden and his older brother, 23-year-old Nathan, who are accused of brutally shooting 18-year-old George Thacker near the cable bridge earlier this month.
Monday afternoon, both brothers stood before a Franklin County judge for the first time. Pasco police arrested them this weekend in Walla Walla after a two week manhunt.
Their court appearances were very brief. Outside the courtroom, we spoke with Jaden and Nathan's mother and step-father. They said they're going to support their boys no matter what.
"My boys are good boys," Michael Dorton said. "We didn't raise those kind of boys so I don't know. No one knows nothing of what's going on. But we feel so bad because there's somebody out there that's missing and they got a mother and a father and brothers and sisters just like we do. So it's hard right now for our family because we don't know what's going on."
Michael says he remembers when Jaden and Nathan would love to go fishing and hunting along with their uncles as a boy. He says the family is just waiting for the facts to come to light, but until then, they will continue to support their sons.
Court documents in this case have been sealed until the brothers make a preliminary appearance next week. When those documents are unsealed, we'll have more details in this murder case.
