General Mills giving away wildflower seeds to help save the bees

KENNEWICK, WA - General Mills has removed its bee mascot "Buzz the Bee" from boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios, and will send you wildflower seeds for's why.

It's a "Bring Back the Bees" campaign, aiming to bring consumer awareness to a buzzing problem: bees and other pollinators are endangered, and if something isn't done about it, Buzz will be forever gone.

To get the movement started, General Mills is pledging to giveaway 100 million wildflower seeds in partnerships with Veseys Seeds. To get yours, just log on to, give the requested information, and your wildflower seeds should arrive in four to six weeks so you can help with this buzzing issue.
