Kennewick Art Walk Wins Heritage Award

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The First Thursday Art Walk in downtown Kennewick is now an award winning event.

On the first Thursday of every month, local artists, jewelers, musicians and vendors meet up to give the public an opportunity to enjoy the arts.

The Kennewick Arts Commission recently awarded the art walk a Heritage Award for its consistent support of the local arts community. And Thursday night is your change to check it out.

"Since we were recognized by the Kennewick Arts Commission," said the art walk coordinator, Brooke Yount, "I do think that that has upped our game, and we have to continue to bring in new entertainment. It's just a matter of coming down to see what First Thursday Art Walk has to offer."

This month's event has three featured artists. Nicholas Corcimiglia is showing his iPhone photography company, Smaller Perspective. You can purchase his work here. Angie Tyree will show acrylic paintings, and the Kennewick High School photography classes will show their photos.

The First Thursday Art Walk in May is on May 2nd, from 5 PM to 9 PM. Just go to You & Eye Framing & Gallery at Benton and First Avenue in Historic Downtown Kennewick, and follow the colored balloons.
