Kennewick Perry Suites Hold Grand Opening, for People with Disabilities
KENNEWICK, WA - A project five years in the making officially became a reality Monday.

Perry Suites held their grand opening Monday afternoon in Kennewick. The apartments are part of Modern Living Services, which provides housing for people with disabilities.

The new apartments will house 14 residents, all in their own unit. Project organizers said housing like this is needed in our community.

"We started Modern Living Services with a group of concerned parents and families that had kids with special needs that were graduating and by the time they turn 21, you know, there's not a whole lot of support services out there in the community, long term living is very difficult as well," said Andrea Mallanee, Modern Living Services, President.

"It's been a dream of ours for a long time to get something like this established and here it is," said Terry Buck, Modern Living Services, Board Member.

Organizers said it took many people, grants and donations to get this accomplished.
