YAKIMA, WA-- Many people in Yakima are now a little bit more fit after Saturday's Leftover Turkey Trot.
Hundreds of people went to Sarg Hubbard Park in Yakima for the 4th annual Leftover Turkey Trot.
The 5K walk and run started at 9:00 Saturday morning with people trying to work off their Thanksgiving meals and raise money for Camp Prime Time and the Yakima Greenway.
Organizers said events like these help families who have kids with special needs.
"We are paying to send these families to go to camp and we don't have a store front or place where people can come and buy things, we are not a retail establishment so we have to have fund raisers like this in order to keep the camp running," said executive director of Camp Prime time, Cecile Anson.
Proceeds from the event will help Camp Prime Time pay for their summer programs and for projects happening at the Greenway.
