Local Walmart Partners with Richland High School to Transport Band Equipment

RICHLAND, Wash. - Dozens of instruments, uniforms and even a four-wheeler. That's what the Richland High School marching band has to take with them to competitions.

An unlikely partnership, however, makes those moves a bit easier. Richland's Walmart and transportation team offered up a semi-trailer for the band to use, complete with driver.

The 80 to 90 student marching band goes all over the state and it's almost impossible without Walmart's help.

"It's been a place where it's almost like a room where the kids can change in, can get all their stuff in. We haven't had to worry about the amount of space that we have or don't have when we get to a site," said band teacher Jason Rose.

This is the second year of this partnership.
