YAKIMA, Wash.-- Kids in Washington will have the chance to get some summer learning in before school starts.
The Foundation For Early Learning is touring the state this summer to promote summer learning for kids up to five-years-old.
The tour stopped in Yakima on Sunday offering resources and suggestions for parents during the summer months.
The program focuses on science, technology, engineering and math.
"It's important that they know that math, science, technology and engineering are fun things to do and learn and it keeps them thinking," said the Director of Development and Outreach for The Foundation For Early Learning, Ghida Sinno.
The program partnered with Yakima Valley Libraries.
Organizers said there is a learning deficit during the summer where kids forget, and these learning programs help them retain information.
