YAKIMA, Wash. - On Saturday, the Selah volleyball team captured it's second straight state title. Selah defeated Grandview in three games to win the championship and the 2A state title.
The Vikings stormed through the 2A field, winning all four of their matches by a decisive score of 3-0. Selah's championship makes it two titles in a row in two different state classifications. Last year, the Vikings won the 3A state championship.
On October 23rd, Selah's post-season hopes were seriously in doubt. The District Five Board ruled that Selah played 18 varsity games, two more than the maximum allowed. The Board ruled to ban Selah from post-season play. The Vikings appealed the decision to the WIAA and the District 5 ruling was overturned.
