Two tiny homes built in Terrace Heights for homeless families

YAKIMA, WA - Two tiny homes have been unveiled in Terrace Heights for homeless families.

Transform Yakima Together spent eight months building the tiny homes for the families in need in the community. The homes are built on the Terrace Heights Assembly of God Church property, where two more homes will be built within the next few years.

Without community, the organization says they would not have been able to finish them.

"This is about community involvement," says Andy Ferguson, Executive Director of Transform Yakima Together. "Transform Yakima is about bringing community together to work on issues of concern to the community."

The tiny homes still don't have any occupants, but they hope to house a mother and children soon.

Both homes cost over $30,000 to build.

The organization hopes to build hundreds more of these tiny homes within Yakima County.
