Less daylight means more danger for drivers & pedestrians

Overnight Saturday into Sunday we leave daylight saving and revert back to standard time.

Firefighters say the day you re-set your clocks is also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detector.

"Smoke detectors are very important because they alert you of a fire. Without them you could be overwhelmed by smoke or fumes while you sleep and never wake up," says firefighter Scott Mclellan.

Firefighters recommend you change the batteries in your smoke detectors every six months.. and make sure they're activated.

They say there is a 50 percent greater chance of dying in a fire when you don't have a working smoke detector.
