YAKIMA, Wash.--The Committee for Downtown Yakima held their first ever summer party Saturday.
It was held in front of the Capitol Theatre.
The event featured live music, food, vendors, and activities for the children.
The Yakima Fire Department and Police Department were on hand to teach people about fire and child safety.
The CDY is excited to have an event over the summer to bring people and families together.
"Having events that are free and family friendly but also have some adult activities like a beer garden. They bring families down, bring people down, and they get to experience what Yakima's all about," said Jamie Lee Stickel of the Committee for Downtown Yakima.
People were out in force to take part in all the event had to offer.
