Temperatures are dropping and some roads may be freezing. With temperatures falling into the low 20s, DOT officials tell drivers to expect black ice in spots, especially very early in the morning.

In the afternoon you can expect snow, especially in the higher elevations. DOT officials say winds tonight could help dry out the roads. But don't count on it when you head out the door tomorrow.

Scott Smith, a maintenance worker at WSDOT says, "My advice to them is to plan ahead, leave at least 15 min early to allow for slower drive time and never use cruise control in any situation."

Smith says cruise control keeps your car going at the same speed even when you start to slide. He also says people should tap their breaks and steer the direction you want to go if you're in a slide.
