KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Hackers steal information from a website that posts jobs from the Department of Energy.
One of KNDU's viewers received an e-mail from USA Jobs, a website that allows people to apply and get information about federal jobs. Our viewer was applying for a position at Hanford.
USA Jobs' website say that names, telephone numbers, and addresses were stolen with a malicious software called Infostealer.Monstres.
The Department of Energy says that they have been notified of the problem but say there is little they can do because they don't manage the site.
USA Jobs web site does say that social security numbers were not stolen. They say they will never ask for personal information unless they are answering an applicant's question.
