YAKIMA, Wash-- As the legislature wraps-up their session KNDO checked-in with Representative Norm Johnson to see how the budget will impact Yakima.
Johnson is happy with the transportation budget. He said the 14th district will be seeing funding for several transportation projects. Johnson also said Downtown Yakima revitalization will continue to be funded through the capital budget.
"Anytime you get money and you're investing in infrastructure that means jobs," said Johnson.
Johnson said he's disappointed in the general operating budget. He said while there are supposedly no new taxes, it's a fee based budget. He's also concerned about the cuts to education, though he did secure some funding for pacific northwest university.
