RICHLAND, Wash. -- 112 motorcycle and scooter enthusiasts rode to work on Monday the 9th annual "Ride to Work Day". Local participants were Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Hanford employees.
The day promotes the use of motorcycles and scooters for transportation. One woman says she hopes it will raise safety awareness.
"Mostly just to be aware of all the risks that are out there, accept those risks and know your limitations and stay inside yours and your motorcycles limitations . Keeping working on your skills so that your limitations can go up," said Rose Byrum, Motorcycle Safety Instructor.
Byrum also says vehicle drivers need to be aware of motorcyclist while traveling.
