UPDATE 10/5/2021 4:21P.M. - This morning at about 10:43 a.m. police received calls of shots fired in the area of 24th Avenue and Englewood Avenue, just a few blocks away from Robertson Elementary.

Police say a 23-year-old man riding his scooter and two 16-year-old boys got into an argument when one of the boys shot at him as he was leaving.

The gunshot did not hit the man on his scooter, but Robertson Elementary was placed on lockdown while police searched the area for the suspects.

The search ended at a house on Wally Road. SWAT arrested the two suspects and YPD K9 Zorro found a pistol buried in a plastic bag near where the boys were arrested.

Police believe all three people involved have gang ties.

YPD's gang unit is taking over the investigation.
