Yakima Valley Memorial faces big cuts

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital could eliminate up to 100 jobs by the end of the year due to budget cuts.

Memorial's CEO Rick Linneweh sent out a letter to all employees this week notifying of upcoming salary and wage freezes. a 50% reduction in capitol spending and cutting their workforce up to 4% by January.

Linneweh says the slow recovery in our nation's recession, the healthcare reform act, and having to reduce costs are just some of the reasons for the cuts. Click here to read the letter
