Central Washington took to the field Saturday against Northwest Missouri State, with the goal of reaching the national semi-finals.  Instead what took place was heartbreak and disappointment for the once undefeated Wildcats.

There is one certainty in sports, if the other team doesn't score, you cannot lose.  A big part in number one ranked Central Washington's success this season, is its big D.  The Wildcats lead the nation with just under twelve points allowed per game.

The Central Washington Wildcats are at the top of the world in Division II Football. It's is their first top ranking in 18 years.

For the second consecutive week, the Central Washington University football team has moved up in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II national poll.

In addition to the Wildcats' projected ranking as a team, senior wide receiver Johnny Spevak (Edgewood, Wash./Puyallup HS) has been tabbed as a preseason All-American by the publication for the second straight season.
