The current Miss Rodeo Washington, Lexy Hibbs, is heading to Las Vegas to compete in the Miss Rodeo America pageant.

The competition starts on Nov. 27 and goes until Dec. 4. Contestants vying for the title will undergo many contests like horsemanship, speech and writing. Hibbs will be competing against 27 other state representatives for the title.

Hibbs is a Richland resident and a former queen of Kennewick's own Horse Heaven Round-Up. She's been riding horses since she was 7 years old and has competed in many equine competitions.

Hibbs sat down with Wake Up Nonstop Local to talk about her journey and experience as Miss Rodeo Washington.

The new Miss Rodeo America will be announced on Dec. 4 at South Point Hotel & Casino in Nevada.
